My Students
First and second graders are energetic, enthusiastic, and super social. They are so enjoyable to be around. They love being involved in the learning process and want to succeed. Our goal as a classroom is that we enter the classroom each day ready to try new things and be brave to make mistakes. Mistakes lead to learning. As a teacher in an impoverished urban area, we struggle to have access to resources needed to provide a quality twenty-first century education. My goal is to provide an equitable education for each student in our classroom.
I teach eager and enthusiastic students who need these resources to reach their full potential.
My Project
It becomes difficult to run a classroom when you need more pencils or folders so that students can stay organized and complete learning tasks. This project is all all about ensuring that we have the basics.
A well-organized classroom offers a clear and productive message to students.
Here is the project breakdown and the why behind each item:
1. Pencils- a well-organized classroom needs the necessary supplies to function. Pencils are used daily. We go through them faster then you think. Many students of our students come to school without supplies
2. Purple Plastic Folders- unified take-home folders for each student for their leveled reader, sight words, and homework in daily.
3. Zipper Folders-Each student will be able to keep their art supplies organized,
4. Clipboards-Offers a way for students to do work away from their desks, but keep their papers organized and neat.
5. Plastic Folders-Many students of our students come to school without supplies. These folders would be provided for those students who may need a folder to keep their work in.
6. Toothbrush Holders: This is a place where they can store their pencils. Each student is given 2 pencils at a time. This would be a great way for students to locate their pencils quickly, and hopefully help our pencil inventory.
