My students need crayons and colored pencils for in class mini projects. My students need copy paper for their handouts and pencils so that they can write when they do not have a pencil.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students consist of children from a low socioeconomic background. They are lovely, motivated and respectful children that are enthusiastic about learning. Specifically, I teach social studies to students from grades K-5. Since I am the only social studies teacher in the school, I frequently do not get to teach every class in the school. Our school has a population of over 750 students.
Engaging my students through my pedagogy is my main goal.
I have many students that are English Language Learners and/or not auditory learners. They thrive and get engaged in my lessons through my tactful use of relevant video clips and images. Video clips, powerpoint presentations, educational websites and images are also effective in engaging my special education students.
My Project
I teach more than 300 students from grades 3-5. Most of the time, my students do not have a pencil, crayons or colored pencils. I never make a fuss over them not having pencils, because it is not their fault if they do not have supplies. I just give all my students any supplies that they require for all tasks that I assign my students. These materials are essential, because students cannot work without pencils and crayon and/or colored pencils. Additionally, many students enjoy expressing content information through art. There should always opportunities for students to express themselves through art.
