My Students

Six is the magic number for group work! We do not have enough materials for six students to work in a guided group and we need help.

The students I serve are a group of very intelligent Kindergarteners who love school to the fullest.

They are bright, energetic, and very social students. As they enter my classroom, I see smiles and it just warms my heart to see such. They work extremely hard each day, and are progressing.

My Project

My students work in pods of six to a center, while I'm working with a group of six at the guided reading and math center. The materials I'm requesting are greatly needed to meet the needs of a group of six. I have some of the materials that I'm requesting already, just not enough for six. It is very difficult to have two different tasks going on at one station. Disappointment is evident on their faces when only four get to use a Tag Reader, while two are digging for sight words. It is key to ensure I have exhausted all resources to ensure students are motivated while learning. The Tag Readers and Nook tablets will be used to reinforce specific reading skills, while the covers will be used to protect our iPods for long use. Now, we must have a source of recharging these materials, and the power strips are for just that.

Six is the magic number in our classroom.

I don't want to leave anyone out or "stick" them doing something different (though meaningful) while others are wanting to be doing what they are. Be a part of including ALL my students in the same task at centers. This will make for a motivated group of learners!
