My students need some basic supplies to take home and assist them when they have limited groceries to meet some daily needs. This is also an incentive to avoid eating sweets or junk food.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Although some students face challenges at home, I have explained to my kiddos that this is a safe place to learn and develop skills to succeed. Students are encouraged to walk into our classroom with a positive attitude to get our day started. I greet them with a fist bump and with a cheerful, "Good Morning!" If a student isn't ready to acknowledge me, he/she gets sent back to the line to reflect on the importance of coming in ready for a new adventure.
I teach at a Title I school in Las Vegas where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast, lunch, and supper.
Despite so many hardships, my students are energized to begin learning and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be attend college and or trade school one day.
My Project
As spring break and summer nears, it is not uncommon to see kids saving food or taking more then needed. We usually hear children say that they would like an extra for their younger siblings. This way they can have something they can share. We want students coming to school prepared and ready to learn without having their stomachs growling. Sometimes a small snack can assist while they return ready to learn. Anyone is willing to earn a rewarding snack and at the same time share with the ones they love. Please assist us in meeting our goal. Thank you!
