My Students

Greeting my class each morning usually includes multiple hugs, high fives and lots of smiles! My third-grade students love walking into our 21st-century classroom where they are challenged to go beyond what they thought was possible.

Each week, I strive to challenge these 8 and 9-year-olds to think deeper and gain knowledge through hands-on learning activities.

They come to school each day ready to meet the challenge head on! While some students may struggle more than others, they are encouraged and guided along the path that leads to success!

My Project

Adding a Microsoft Surface Go to our classroom will impact our learning environment in multiple ways. My students will be able to use it as a productivity device to access websites and create projects. These projects will let them apply what they have learned and extend their learning to the next level by integrating technology into their projects. Adding this device to our classroom would be giving me a teaching tool that also gives my students with a powerful tool that will encourage creativity and productivity in my students.

Additionally, students diagnosed with ADHD and struggle with focus, and concentration quickly exhibit off task behaviors while they are waiting for the technology transitions.

Valuable learning time is lost each day while I am switching between devices. This adversely affects my students ability to learn. As a teacher, the Microsoft Surface Go will allow me to teach using one device rather than switching between my teacher laptop, the class iPad, and my personal phone. The Microsoft Surface Go device can be used to both project lessons to the board, act as a document camera, and saves digital inking to images that can be reused the next day. Eliminating the transition time between devices will greatly impact my students ability to stay on task and naturally take their learning to the next level.
