My students need novels for a whole-class study to aid in our unit on exploring identity. Through reading, discussion, and taking a deep dive into the text, students will demonstrate their knowledge of literary skills. Ww need Three Times Lucky.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am very fortunate to work in a terrific public school in Chicago. Since my school is a Title 1, sometimes even the most common supplies, like books, are hard to come by.
My sixth graders have their fingers on the pulse when it comes to music, video games, and social media.
As an English language arts teacher, I want to stimulate that same excitement through reading. I feel that nothing brings a class together like diving into a good book.
My Project
Having the opportunity to read a novel as a class will not only promote a love for reading but will also create stronger independent readers and thinkers.
When students are able to discover, laugh, and even cry together while reading a novel, a true sense of community has been established in the classroom.
It's then that the learning (and fun) can really begin.
Sparking this passion for reading is my personal goal and a key to success in my classroom. Three Times Lucky is a clever mystery which includes characters that a diversity of students can appreciate and identify with.
