Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is in a low income area and yet, excited to help our students engage in learning. Many of our students are ESL and all students receive free lunch to help ensure a meal for breakfast and lunch for all students.
Our school emphasizes reading and math as well as teaching the whole student.
We want our students to be critical thinkers, creative, able to collaborate with peers, care for each other, and communicators in order to be ready for the jobs that are not even created yet.
My Project
Reading is essential to success in our classroom! With options of different books to read, my students can find books that will interest them and excite them about reading and encourage reading inside and outside of our classroom. I always hope to inspire a love for reading in my room and with more books, students are able to read at their level and engage in the story. Reading opens up doors for my students and lets them escape their world and experience something new, different, and exciting taking them on adventures that they may not be able to have outside of our area.
