Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are in a very unique school district. We have over 2,400 students in our High School. Our district is a Title I school and it is in a low-income and high crime-rate area.
The location of our district does not define our high school students, rather their unique abilities and achievements do.
Our students are hard-working and they create goals which they achieve. Our students are resilient, they are able to take their individual circumstance and use it to fuel their ambition. Our students are proud.... they are strong.... they are brave.. and most importantly, they do not give up.
My Project
I would like to provide my students with hands-on access to a color printer.
Our students need to opportunity not only to create unique projects but to make those projects come to life.
I would like to use the inkjet printer to allow my students to freely create anything they can dream up. Often, our students have wonderful ideas for projects but it is difficult to make that a reality when we do not have access to a color printer. There is nothing worse than seeing a beautiful creation but only have the ability to print it in black and white. At best, the idea is conveyed but not truly represented as it loses its luster and true feeling the student put in to making it. Please help me bring our students' ideas to life.
