This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I have the privilege of teaching at an elementary school in southwest Washington, D.C. We are a Title I focus school. We have some truly phenomenal students at our school who come to school each morning full of energy, questions, and wonder. They are truly amazing humans and deserve all necessary support to meet their goals.

I am making a shift in our classroom to Project-based learning, but the problem is that we do not have headphones for all of our new computers.

Now that we have had DonorsChoose.org projects funded for computers, we need headphones to go with them.

My Project

Because of the generosity from Donors choose, we have new laptops coming to our classroom. Now that we have new laptops coming, we need headphones to go with the laptops.

When the students are on their individual learning site, they are in charge of their content.

Their level progresses as they answer questions correctly. The websites have interesting music and sound to go with the learning. It is difficult having everybody playing the same music, or different music on their device. We need headphones so that every student can concentrate. Having eight pairs of headphones will make sure that everyone hears their own work, without disruption.
