My Students

I am a kindergarten teacher in a general education class of 24 students. I want to provide my students with a wonderful learning environment full of hands-on experiences that encourage them to use their creative minds while learning the curriculum and core concepts.

My school is located in a high poverty neighborhood and a lack of funding requires that teachers spend their own money to provide many of the resources for their students.

My students are enthusiastic learners who deserve the best education and materials to support their learning.

My Project

My students have been participating in a drama class for an hour a week and they have really enjoyed learning about characters and props. So many of my students come alive during drama and I am really able to observe their thought process, their ability to problem solve, and their language development. They have such amazing imaginations. We are about to begin our unit on People in the Community and I have a great set of uniforms with hats and a variety of props for my students to use as they are taking on the roles of various community workers. This space-saver dress-up center would be the perfect storage solution to provide a place for everything to be in one place and easily accessible to my students. I know they would love to look at themselves in the mirror all dressed up!

Children learn so much through pretend play.

It is so important for children to have opportunities during their instructional day to use their imaginations and express their creative side. This dress-up center will make it so easy for me to organize the costumes and props for whatever theme we are learning about. Thank you so much for your generosity and for your support of public education.
