I have a very unique group of student with Autism Spectrum Disorder with some challenging behaviors. My students receive services for speech, Special Education (IEP) Occupational and Physical Therapy. These student are in need of sensory diet materials such as; sensory brush, Sensa Rock, Excellerations Classroom Sensory Kit, yoga balls, rug 5x7, sensory stretchy body sock, sensory peapod for kids, Autism Steam Roller and kids scooter board.
These ASD students are very unique and special in their own way.
Most of our students have comorbidity conditions including depression, anxiety, bipolar, intellectual disability, and ADHD.
My Project
These materials will benefit my student to gain new coping and life skills in real life.
These materials will be a great asset to my students in their daily life.
For example, one of my students is on a sensory diet, he requires constant interchangeable sensory activities. Because we do not have many material available, it is almost impossible to offer and meet student needs.
Another example, I will like to offer my students a rug where to play games, take sensory breaks, and give them the opportunity to be part of hands-on activities in a comfortable setting.
Lastly, my students will take advantage of the books that are based on child interest to make their leaning fun.
