My Students

Our school is a middle/high school in the urban area of Maryland. We focus on educating our students to become great leaders and citizens. Students are celebrated for exhibiting our school's core values: integrity, scholarship, citizenship, perseverance, and sustainability. My students learn best through real-world applications, hands-on activities, and authentic experiences. I teach students with diverse abilities, interests, and backgrounds. My students are in various grade levels, but they all thrive when they get to "do" science!

For the 2021-2022 school year, I am teaching AP Seminar, AP Research, and Independent Study: Science.

STEM/STEAM hands-on activities, cross-curricular projects, and laboratory investigations help my students to learn and apply concepts.

Having experiences dealing with research in high school will better prepare them for their future college and career choices. AP Seminar and AP Research allow them to explore themes, develop and refine their reading and writing skills, earn college credit, and so much more. Independent Study: Science allows them to explore topics within science that are interesting to them. I am so excited to be teaching these courses!

My Project

This project offers my students a variety of books. Some books will help to support their writing, critical thinking, and debate skills, such as The Argument Builder. Some books are books that my students have requested, like the Brotherband series and to complete series of books that were donated directly. Others are "The Science of..." books that my students enjoy!

I have worked to create a classroom library that is diverse, inclusive, and relevant to my students' interests and needs. As interests and needs change, my classroom library needs to reflect that. By supporting this project, you will be helping my students have access to a variety of books!
