This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Hello! I am a first grade teacher in the Bronx. This is a school where over 90% of our students come from low-income homes and very few are able to receive the extracurricular activities you might find elsewhere. I will be teaching an after school baking class. This will give children an opportunity to bake from scratch (which many adults no longer even do!) We will learn about the origins of many recipes, what parts ingredients play in the process, how to properly measure ingredients and best of all EAT our finished products. I am asking for 30 aprons. I want these students to feel like real bakers and get really involved in what they are doing. Please help us look and feel professional as well as stay clean!
