This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I work with some of the best and brightest kids Arkansas has to offer. They are charismatic, funny, hard working, and willing to push whatever button they need to push to get things done.
Our students, however, reside in one of the lower socioeconomic areas of central Arkansas and tend to have financial difficulties when it comes to things such as food and supplies.
That's where DonorsChoose.org comes in. Our students need supplies to start and complete the school year without having to worry about having what they need for school.
My Project
My classroom needs basic classroom supplies to help with literacy. My students are asking for chart paper and markers, pencils, notebooks, sharpies, and dry erase markers and boards to help build a more collaborative, STEM style classroom..
Many of our students don't have the basic supplies needed for a good day at school and often resort to just not doing work.
We are always striving to educate our students not just for the classroom but for life, Having supplies on hand for our students to use is a great way to help them understand it's ok to ask for help. Thank you for thinking of us.
