My Students

Every day is a new adventure in our Second Grade class! I strongly believe that it is my duty to build lifelong learners! The best way to do this is to get texts in kids hands that are interesting, colorful, relevant, and rich in vocabulary!

My students devoured Scholastic News articles that peak their interests and represent their diverse cultural backgrounds, interests, and experiences.

Students at my school are inquisitive, curious, and creative. Texts about current events are so important to my students and are truly valued. Many of my students do not have access kid-friendly News at home and rely on high-quality periodicals in the classroom. Each day students inquire when the next issues will be mailed. There is a buzz about issues all over the globe and an excitement for reading about the world in our class.

My Project

Students absolutely love Scholastic News! This subscription allows students to stay informed on current events all over the world at a level that is engaging and age-appropriate.

Scholastic News and Storyworks Jr magazines feed students curiosity and love for literacy!

Each Scholastic News issue is loaded with amazing facts and exposes students to a variety of text features. Storyworks Jr offers fiction and poetry!

Scholastic also provides teachers with tools to assess student's comprehension, vocabulary, and writing skills. Students are thrilled to take their weekly readers home to share with families! It's a win for everyone!
