My Project

Literacy is the foundation for strong skills in all academic areas. Without strong literacy skills, students quickly fall behind, not only in academics but in their confidence. At our school, we are not only working to provide that strong foundation in literacy, we are working on promoting the importance of literacy for ALL students. In working to promote literacy, the 3rd-grade teachers have chosen the book, Flat Stanley, to present to all upcoming 3rd-grade learners as a summer reading project.

The presentation of a new book, a book title that is only presented to learners upcoming into that grade, sends the message that reading is important.

Reading is important as you tackle this new grade level. Reading ties us all together. We are looking forward to seeing you in our grade level and to a year of reading together!
