My Students

This resource will help me provide students with specific literacy interventions to strengthen their reading skills. In middle school students are expected to already know how to read. Unfortunately many are several grade levels behind. It is important that in sixth grade students are able to jumpstart their literacy and work to be on grade level.

Just Words offers the opportunity for my students to fill the reading gaps that have existed for years.

My Project

Using this kit I will be able to provide my students with the literacy interventions that they need.

Many of my students come to sixth grade below grade level.

Unfortunately this gap is often not filled because direct literacy instruction is not incorporated into the curriculum.

The Just Words curriculum builds in the direct instruction on phonemes and morphology that students need. This teacher kit comes with important materials that support both myself and the students in this instruction. Students are given tools that help them understand the structure of words and phrases which in turn helps build their reading skills.
