In my classroom, the importance of a calm, regulated body is the difference in succeeding.
I like to dedicate a place in my room to get the wiggles out so students can feel calm and ready to learn.
Students can come for a quick individual break to help get back to focus. It is very important for my young students to be able to get a movement break so they can come back to their area feeling more relaxed. The trampoline will sit in the back of the room and allow students to stay in one area and get their energy out. The calming strips can be on their desks and ready for them to use anytime they feel frustrated. Just because a child is small doesn't mean they do not have big feelings.
