Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My amazing students come from diverse backgrounds. A high percentage of them receive free or reduced-price lunches. The students come from high-poverty areas. They are faced with enormous challenges but are quite resilient.

Even though our students come from high-poverty areas, they are determined to succeed.

Their desire to achieve greatness inspires me to reach out to the world and rally for resources that will assist them on their journey. These amazing students just need a running start!

My Project

My Middle School students in our newly formed Journalism class are excited and can't wait to interview their school community. We are currently learning about ethical practices and journalism basics.

Once students are knowledgeable about the basics they will be ready to assume the role of school news reporters and will need equipment to accomplish this task.

While the student's passion for journalism can't be quenched they lack needed materials such as microphones and recorders.

These microphones and recorders would enable students to construct a school newspaper and host a podcast. They will cover current events, sports, fun, and meaningful topics that impact their peers.
