My students absolutely love gymnastics. We do a gymnastics unit each year during our Physical Education classes and there is also an afterschool gymnastics club that many students are a part of.
Jumping and landing skills are a key part of our gymnastics curriculum but we don't have the equipment needed for students to practice these skills.
With these plyometric boxes, we will be able to add jumping and landing to our classes. My hope is to challenge the students with different types of jumps while also teaching them how to land from their jumps safely. This would also give students the opportunity to add jumps into their end-of-unit routines.
These boxes would be used both during our physical education classes as well as by the after-school gymnastics club.
