My Students
My students come to school eager to find out what fun activities are planned for physical education. As a Magnet school, we have students attending from all over Hillsborough County. Some spend long periods on the bus just to get to us.
The excitement they show as the run to the court makes me feel honored to be their teacher.
My students have been exposed to many different activities, some that they have never tried, throughout this year. Although we value our equipment and take care of it daily, some wear out from use and simply needs replacing. Please help my students continue to enjoy their physical education class and becoming healthy, physically active adults.
My Project
Jumping rope is an amazing way to improve your cardiorespiratory endurance. These jump ropes will allow my students to learn the difference between moderate and vigorous physical activities. The different lengths will allow all of my students to chose an appropriate sized rope. The build your own kit, will allow one student per grade level that improves the most, create their own unique jump rope as a reward!
Imagine focusing on which space you are going to race a classmate to in order to ensure you get a decent jump rope to practice.
These ropes will be replacing the same models that are more than 15 years old. Many of the plastic links are broken due to years of use. These links help slow the rope down and allows the students to be more successful. Please help my students be able to focus on the instruction rather than being distracted searching for the few jump ropes that are the right size and have at least half of the links. This project will allow every student in my class to have a new jump rope to practice their skills.
