This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Do you know what it is like for students that have a need for updated technology? Well, let me say that my students have not had a chance to explore a hands-on iPad that will keep their attention.
My students are categorized with high-functioning autism.
They all have an Instructional Educational Plan (IEP). Their IEP goals have to be followed closely. They attend a school which is 100% free lunch. Many of my students are single-parented, parented by an alternate family member, or in foster care. Some children are homeless, living in a hotel, and desperately need to receive a high quality education.
My Project
The students will be able to have hands-on usage by alternating the iPad in a center-gathered spot. They will be able to take turns becoming technology savvy. The students will be able to do research and listen to applied social studies and science readings.
One of my students has minimum hearing loss.
This iPad will help this student with listening to special activities, teacher-made assessments, and small group activities. The iPad has a variety of downloads that will benefit my unique students.
