This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are full of energy, heart, and determination. Many come from low-income households and face challenges outside of school, yet they show up each day ready to learn, connect, and grow. They are resilient, kind, and supportive of one another, and they shine when given opportunities to move and express themselves. Physical education isn’t just a break in the day for them—it’s a vital outlet that supports their emotional well-being and helps them release stress in a healthy, positive way.
This project will provide a football, rubber ball, jump ropes, soccer balls, and basketballs—each playing a key role in supporting both the physical and mental health of our students.
Team sports like football, soccer, and basketball teach cooperation and build self-confidence while giving students a chance to bond and support one another. Jump ropes encourage focus, coordination, and individual goal setting—skills that are essential for emotional regulation. The rubber ball is great for inclusive group games that allow every student to feel involved and successful. These resources will create a fun, safe space where students can move, connect, and care for both their bodies and minds.
The goal of this project is to support the whole child—physically, emotionally, and mentally. We want our students to build healthy habits, develop confidence, and experience the mental health benefits that come from staying active and feeling included. With access to the right equipment, PE can become a consistent source of joy, stress relief, and connection for our students. By supporting this project, you're helping create a space where every child can thrive—on the field, in the classroom, and in life.
