My Project
In our P.E. class recently we started our jump rope unit. To my surprise this was the first time most of my students had ever tried to jump rope, from Kindergarten all the way to 5th grade. Every single student has been working so hard to improve their jump rope skills and level up in our jump rope competition and I have a record number of students asking me how to practice without a jump rope at home. Our kids are so excited and determined to get better at this skill and I want to keep that fire to exercise going.
While there are many ways to practice jump rope skills without a jump rope, the best way to get better is just to try.
I would like to provide every one of our students here at Mann Elementary with their own adjustable jump rope to practice with at home. Jumping rope provides an immense amount of benefits from coordination practice to improving cardiovascular endurance. Jumping rope is also a lifelong fitness skill that kids can participate in from now well into their adult lives.
