Jump Rope for Fun and Fitness

Help me give my students a better experience learning to jump rope because my current ones are stiff with permanent bends, and likely more than 20 years old which make jumping extra challenging.

My Project

I teach elementary PE to amazing, determined and hard working kids. Learning to jump rope is an elementary milestone. Kids develop the grit to keep trying when things don’t come easy. They set goals to improve both their skills and their fitness.

I have been using jump ropes I inherited from the past teacher that are at least 20 years old.

The stiffness of the old plastic ropes makes them extra challenging to jump.

These new ropes will provide enough for me to create specially sized ropes that will fit all students, increasing student success. I also included some rope jump ropes, which swing a bit slower to help new learners as well as long jump ropes for group activities. Lastly, I have asked for a wireless mic so that kids can hear my cues and encouragement during class.
