Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are the Panthers! Our school is located in a sunny part of Nevada. Our area is low income, but our school pride is on the high side! Our students come from all different kinds of families and we embrace our diversity by emphasizing the seven habits of happy kids.
My students love school!
Their interests range from basketball to hopscotch and their future career goals include police officer, doctor, artist and fireman. Our favorite activity in the day is when we jump onto the computers to play our interactive math and reading programs.
My Project
I have requested fitness watches and jump ropes to create a project in my school promoting heart health and fitness. I will lead students on a journey of learning about health and fitness.
Students will exercise and collect data at the same time.
Students will have access to fitness technology that they have never experienced before. We will explore the use of technology to chart, graph and analyze data. We will also use this opportunity to create a fitness culture in our school.
We will use our bulletin board space as a recognition wall for students that participate in the activity. Students will track and graph their own data, incorporating grade level appropriate strategies.
