My Project

I'm looking to incorporate full body movement in our Pre-K through grade 5 general music classes. This will compliment the current curriculum of singing, dancing and playing instruments.

Many studies have shown the benefit of full body movement in learning, and the same benefits apply to learning music.

Movement during learning improves concentration, relieves stress, and increases retention. Any opportunity for students to move during class can positively impact student learning.

Using jump bands and rubber bouncy balls during music activities, students will improve their internal sense of pulse, rhythmic awareness, and overall coordination. They will also work on teamwork skills and cooperation, all while having fun!
