This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Dear Donors,

This is a FUN-tastic PE unit I've run before in other schools I taught at.

Always super successful and loved by my students. This is my first year at AES so I'm trying to bring it here, and make it a permanent PE event.

During this Jump Rope Unit my students, from K to 6th, will learn different jump rope games and activities to, not only improve their basic motor skills, but also help them understand how important getting a strong and healthy heart is.

The unit will have a celebration day, February 14th, where we all will promote the benefits of cardio exercises by jump roping, and learn new jumping skills.

All classes will come to the gym to participate in a jumping contest. The K-2nd grade classes will take part in a game called "The Snake", fun and appropriate for their age; and the 3rd-6th grade students will take part in an individual JR challenge. We will also include a challenge for teachers. Everyone in!

There will be awards by gender and grade (medals, diplomas, and a jump rope), and all participants will receive a red bracelet for their participation in the final celebration day.

This is my favorite event of the year. All students and teachers get together to celebrate the benefits of physical activity in a super fun challenge. Music is played, students cheer up each other, and we all celebrate the winners!

It's hard to put together an event like this with little budget. The gym will be decorated for the occasion, and students will definitely have a great time.

With your donation this project will be again the "icing of the cake" of my PE program at our school, an event where everyone will be excited to take part in.
