My Project
In my high school English Language Arts classroom, I aim to create a space where students can think clearly, participate confidently, and feel cared for. For many of my students, this begins with something as simple and essential as hydration. That’s why I’m requesting your help in providing juice boxes for my classroom.
Many of the teens I work with come from low-income households where access to nutritious drinks is limited.
Some students come to school dehydrated or only have access to sugary sodas and flavored drinks with no real nutritional value. Having juice boxes available gives students a boost of energy and nutrients that help them stay focused and engaged throughout the school day.
Juice boxes may seem small, but they’re powerful. A quick sip can bring a student back to life in the middle of a long day. Offering juice also builds a sense of trust and care—students feel seen when they are offered something they need without judgment or hassle.
In a classroom environment where we discuss literature, write about our experiences, and explore big ideas, students need both physical and emotional fuel. Providing juice helps meet these needs and keeps students in the room, participating, and striving to do their best.
