This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

One of my main goals for my Spanish 2, 3, and 4 students is to provide opportunities to them grow their Spanish-speaking skills through hands-on, peer-to-peer activities. While the best way to learn a language is through full immersion in a Spanish-speaking country, a big part of language acquisition also comes from using the language in everyday situations.

My hope is that by having these materials, students will have more chances to practice their interpersonal communication skills in small group settings.

Not only will they be using Spanish in meaningful ways, but they’ll also start making stronger connections between the words they’re learning and actually speaking them out loud. I want my students to feel more confident and comfortable using Spanish in real conversations.
