My Project

I have learned that elementary students benefit from text having a picture to go along with it. It helps them connect two parts of their brain and makes it easier for them to remember.

Reading helps kids be able to learn a large variety of vocabulary and reading comprehension.

The problem with today's world is that students are so invested in technology and watching a video that they don't fully understand the joy of picking up a good book and being transported to a new world. Graphic novels help them to be able to visualize what they are reading.

A lot of newer graphic novels are easily relatable to students of this demographic. They can easily swap the main character for themself and see themselves as the hero.
