My Project
As a music teacher at a Title I school, I have the joy of introducing music to many students who are experiencing it for the very first time in their lives. For many of our Kindergarten and 1st grade students, music class is not just a subject — it's a whole new world.
This is my third year at this school, and I’ve been steadily building up our classroom instrument collection piece by piece.
While we’ve made some great progress, we’re still missing some of the most developmentally appropriate tools for our youngest learners.
Our students — including those in special education and inclusive classrooms — thrive when music is hands-on, simple, and full of joy. That’s why we are hoping to receive Boomwhackers, drum pads, rhythm sticks, and an exciting new addition: Light Up Drum Sticks.
These color-changing drumsticks aren't just visually engaging — they provide an immediate, magical reward for movement and rhythm, which is especially motivating for young children and learners with diverse needs. They light up with every beat, reinforcing rhythm in a fun, sensory-rich way that keeps students focused and eager to participate.
All of these tools are colorful, accessible, and engaging, helping children explore beat, rhythm, and expression in a way that feels like play.
These instruments will help create a learning space where every child can participate, feel successful, and develop a lifelong love for music, no matter their background or learning style.
