My Project
Our students benefit so much from hands-on experiential learning! They are so inquisitive and insightful when we are able to feed their curiosity with unique, dynamic projects and have the balanced outlet of healthy engaging exercise activities outside. Their education outcomes benefit greatly from the mental health that balance supports.
The paludarium, which is a terrarium with both land and water components, will give them a front row seat to observe the biology, behaviors and adaptations of a captive bred Carpet Chameleon within the greater context of an integrated ecological system indoors while the exercise equipment will provide a dynamic and engaging array of activities outside.
Through the observation and caring for living creatures, students' mental health will benefit from the engagement and calming atmosphere of nature in the classroom.
Additionally, by tracking temperature, humidity, precipitation, and lighting, as well as water temperature and chemistry, students will build an appreciation for the complexity and interdependence of nature and our responsibility as humans to protect and revere our natural resources.
Through fun sporting activities outside, students will have the opportunity to play an array of games with the Toss and Catch Game Ball Set, while learning teamwork and gaining the mental health benefits exercise can provide.
I love both biology and sports and I hope to inspire that love in my students and to teach them to develop a lifelong love of learning and a desire to understand the natural world we inhabit.
