My Students

My diverse campus is one of the largest in our district. We are a full Title I school with a significant portion of students enrolled in our bilingual program. This year’s data reveals that more than 64% of our students are considered at-risk and qualify for free or reduced price lunch. The majority of our resources, at our school, are focused on low-performing students and academics; however, with a new shift in our focus, we would like to introduce a social and emotional element. We believe we need to focus on the "whole child" in order for our students to excel to the next level.

Despite all the challenges and obstacles that lay before our kids, we hope to provide them with a tools that will promote the value in diversity, understanding, and perseverance.

My Project

When you were little, did you ever dream of what you wanted to be when you grow up? KidZania is an interactive, kid-sized city that allows kids to explore more than 100 different careers through ultra-realistic role-play. By participating in the activities and establishments, my students will gain expertise in understanding various careers, develop skills necessary for their future, and better understand financial literacy by earning, spending, and saving "kidZos."

KidZania is all about playful learning!

KidZania provides activities which are both accessible and challenging to children of different ages and abilities. Through curriculum-based role play activities, students will instantly grasp that learning is tangible and its outcomes have a purpose and a reality.
