My Project

In my vibrant classroom, every day is an adventure in learning, and I'm excited to invite you to be a part of it through my DonorsChoose project. As Ms. Rachel, I am dedicated to providing my students with the tools they need to explore the worlds of science and social studies. By acquiring class sets of engaging books in these subjects, I aim to ignite their curiosity and deepen their understanding of the world around them. With the subscription Time for Kids, my students will embark on journeys through time and space, diving into the mysteries of history, unraveling the wonders of the universe, and uncovering the interconnectedness of our global society.

These science and social studies books won't just sit on shelves in our classroom—they'll become integral parts of our daily lessons and activities.

For instance, we'll delve into the pages of science books to conduct hands-on experiments, fostering a love for inquiry and discovery among my diverse learners. Additionally, we'll use social studies books as windows into different cultures and societies, promoting empathy and understanding among my culturally diverse class. Through literature circles, group discussions, and interactive projects, my students will not only absorb knowledge but also learn to respect and appreciate each other's backgrounds and perspectives.

My ultimate goal is to empower my students to become active, engaged citizens of the world. Despite their young age, they have already shown remarkable growth and maturity since the beginning of the school year. Their cultural diversity enriches our classroom community, and their ability to respect and learn from one another fills me with pride as their teacher.
