Writing, reading, and social studies...oh, my! Oh, the places we will go through reading, exploring, and writing about our experiences. The students in my classroom love to learn about new experiences through books they read and developing ideas for their writing compositions.
I'm a fourth grade educator based out of Texas.
I teach in a Title I school. The students come from a variety of economic backgrounds with 90% of our students receiving free or reduced price lunch. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. Luckily, with the necessary tools, my students will be the best students they can be.
My students need headphones to use with computers as we study and learn different reading skills during their computer lab time. The items that I am requesting will provide for a better learning environment for my students. The resources will reinforce learning through literacy centers. The headphones will allow students to listen in a quiet environment for remedial skills needed to master specific concepts in reading, writing, and social studies. The pink erasers will allow students to realize mistakes happen and it can always be erased. The glue sticks will allow them to finally get their ideas realized and it can stick. The pencil sharpener will provide them with tools to creatively put their ideas on paper. However, the most important, in my opinion, ink so I can provide them with resources since our school copy machine doesn’t work 90% of the time and it has to be shared amongst several teachers
Majority of my students are African-American and Hispanic.
The school is located in southern DFW area and is a Title I school. The students are also on free or reduced-priced lunch, too. Providing the necessary tools will greatly benefit their ability to learn the skills to make them successful.
