Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students need a safe space to process their thoughts and emotions — and I want to give them one, right in their own notebooks. I’m requesting journals so that every student in my classroom can engage in social-emotional writing activities where they will be able to “brain dump” — getting their thoughts and feelings out on paper — while also practicing and strengthening their writing skills.
Journaling provides them with a healthy outlet for reflection and self-expression.
Through guided prompts and freewriting exercises, students will learn to manage stress, reflect on their experiences, and build resilience — all while developing voice, fluency, and confidence as writers.
Having their own notebooks ensures that each student has a private and personal space to write. These journals will be used throughout the year during dedicated writing time, as well as in moments when students need to reset or refocus. This
