Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

For this project, I am requesting journals/notebooks and sketchbooks for my English and art classes. My aim is to integrate these notebooks and sketchbooks into our academic endeavors and provide support for students' social-emotional well-being.

Since the pandemic, I have observed an increasing need for resources that promote mindfulness, self-expression, and emotional processing.

Through the potential of journaling and art as therapeutic tools, I believe having dedicated materials for these activities can help foster a positive and supportive learning environment for all students.

My English classes will use the journals for reflective writing, daily journal prompts, and longer personal narrative assignments. The sketchbooks will be incorporated into my art curriculum to provide students a platform for creative exploration and self-expression using various artistic mediums. Students will begin each class with a daily sketch prompt to help them navigate their emotions and express their creativity.
