Journals and Clipboards and Birthdays, Oh My!

Help me give my students a classroom full of fun and excitement with birthday cups, play-doh mornings, and journals to inspire writing!

My Project

These are the things I need to start my new class off and to get them motivated and inspired to learn! In this project I have classroom needs like new clipboards and folders that are essential to learning but I also have Play-Doh and games which are also essential to learning!

Before anything else, a teacher's goal is to make each and every student feel important.

One way I do this is by create Birthday Cups for all my students! I take a smoothie cup and fill it up with a bunch of goodies, write a nice note, and stick a silly straw in it and the kids go crazy! They can't believe they got a birthday present from Ms. Fisher!

Another thing on my list is writing journals, I learned in college how important it is to make writing meaningful for students. With these journals, my students will have the opportunity to decorate their journal any way they want and then each day they will have 15 minutes to draw a picture, write how they are feeling, or tell a story - it will be free writing time. At the end of the year they will have a notebook full of their First Grade Year. I believe it is something they will want to keep forever and it will be exciting for them to fill it up throughout the year.

I only ask for things that I know are important to children and that will inspire them or help me inspire them. Thank you for making this possible for me.
