In an ongoing effort to create an outstanding journalism program for my students, I want to provide them with a sense of the professionalism and responsibility that journalists in newsrooms across the country experience on a daily basis. A part of that experience is reinforcing the students' awareness of their importance as the student press, in addition to training them in the skills and tools of organization applicable in any job. As such, I am looking for office supplies to stock our planned new publications lab, especially items such as mail compartments and portfolios that will help the students organize their documents. I teach two classes of journalism, an introduction class and a publications class, that aims at informing students of the role of journalism in today's society, as well as empowering them as students and citizens in our world today. We are entering our second year of publication and are very much under-resourced and under-funded, because the classes are electives and much of the work is done as an extracurricular. I have funded $2,000 - $3,000 of my own money last year to start up the program, but am not in a financial position to repeat that generosity (nor do I want to, as I want to teach my students financial responsibility as part of journalism!). As such, any help would be greatly appreciated.
