Help me give my students the ability to compete in journalism events with reliable printers! Traveling to competitions with full-sized printers is difficult, and a set of portable printers would allow them to focus on their writing.
My journalism students at our low socio-economic high school work hard to improve their writing skills and compete at the highest levels. They regularly win regional and state competitions, and five of the eight were named to the Texas All-State Journalism Staff last year. One of our biggest battles is having working printers for competitions that we travel to. Regular desktop printers are bulky and hard to set up and maintain; traveling on a bus with them is difficult.
We have wanted portable printers for a long time, and a set of these will make traveling for competitions easier for my students.
Setting up will be easier as well, and this will give students a chance to focus on their writing rather than on setting up technology. Help me to help them continue to grow and learn!
