This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are incredible and resilient. We want students to know that they definitely have a voice. With all of the learning and content necessary during the day, sometimes they may not have enough time to share how they are feeling on a deeper level. An iPad would allow students to journal whether that is typing in a document or recording a video for our students to share how they are feeling for the teacher to see you later on.
We care so much about our students and want them to know that we will always have an ear for them.
An iPad will allow my students to interact with current technology since they do not have technology class this year. It will teach them fine motor skills, and to freely share. They can also share what day they would like to share, without the pressure of everyone listening at once. My students were in kindergarten when the pandemic happened. They were inside of their houses for over a year when that was the most important time to socially and emotionally develop. The iPad will be placed in the Calm Down caddy because students can also use it to draw, play games or reflect on their emotions and actions.
