Journaling to Encourage Creativity and Strengthen Writing in HS English

My Project
One of the toughest parts of teaching high school English is teaching kids to write! They are so used to texting that getting them to write down a response to something can be really difficult; plus, writing can genuinely be so intimidating for many students.
The goal for this project is to get students excited about writing by offering them fun journal prompts to start each class period; they will answer each prompt in these bright colored notebooks that they will be able to decorate and personalize with stickers!
Because of the financial circumstances many of my students face, if I want them to have a specific supply, I like to be able to provide it for them. These notebooks will be provided for each student, and they will be able to take ownership over them by decorating them with the wide variety of stickers also provided. The Sharpies and paint pens I already have in my classroom.
Please help my students become more confident writers by being able to get their thoughts down on paper with this journal project!
