This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are between the ages of eight and nine years old. My students are English Language Learners. They attend a Title I school that is in the heart of a city in Florida.

Although family income is low, this does not define the students or their abilities.

My students are energetic, creative, and full of curiosity. A day in the classroom is full of learning, understanding, discovery and exceeding expectations. My students are worth every penny that is donated to our class- and more! The students would be so grateful for a donation of any kind.

My Project

The bird cage, food, and toys are for our new class pet- two beautiful parakeets. Students will use the Boogie Jot 2.0 to take notes and record specific words associated with their class pets. My goal is to have students learn new vocabulary, as they struggle with this skill, according to their current reading data. Giving the students in my class the access to a class pet and creative technology will be a sure way to have the students writing in no time! Some of my students do not have the experience with a pet, the maintenance, and therefore, the vocabulary associated with having a pet. I would like to facilitate this writing adventure for them.
