Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My project for this school year and the years to come is to have various books that examine friendship, acceptance, and what it really means to be good, bad, or cool. My second graders are learning how to be a good friend and they love Jory John books!
I need books about Acceptance and Inclusion.
By reading books about acceptance, students can understand the power of acceptance and how it shapes our relationships with others by taking on board book characters’ experiences and conversations such as the Good Egg, the Bad Seed, and the Sour Grape. In addition to my project, I included a TPT gift card to purchase activities to go along with these books. Also, I included Spanglish books to support my EL students in their comprehension.
