My Project
I am requesting a sensory corner for my self-contained classroom to provide a dedicated, calming space for students with autism and sensory processing needs. This area will include a canopy to create a quiet, enclosed retreat and calming manipulatives such as fidget toys, textured objects, and weighted items to support self-regulation.
Many of my students become overwhelmed by sensory input throughout the day and need a structured, soothing environment to help them reset and refocus.
The sensory corner will serve as a safe space where they can engage in calming activities, practice self-regulation strategies, and develop coping skills that support their success in the classroom.
This resource will make a significant impact by reducing stress, improving focus, and promoting emotional well-being, ultimately helping my students engage more fully in learning. Your support will create a more inclusive and supportive classroom environment where every student can thrive.
