My Students

My students are some of the brightest future leaders around. At Sierra Verde STEAM Academy, they explore and innovate constantly, using cutting-edge technology while learning how to collaborate to problem solve. They inspire me every day.

My students know that the Arts are as vital to our community as technology is, and they crave meaningful musical experiences.

I work my hardest to make sure that nothing holds them back from their goals. My teaching philosophy is all about encouraging and enabling students to achieve success. Because of this, I strive to keep my classroom, curriculum, and content moving forward along with the rest of the world!

My Project

A tambourine and drum brushes are standard instrument/implements used in a variety of musical styles, from the concert band to jazz, funk, and pop music. Unfortunately, Sierra Verde's tambourine was destroyed after years of improper use, and we never had brushes to begin with.

In addition to helping us play songs this year that specifically call for these sounds, having these instruments will help me widen my educational scope to different genres of music.

Blank Swamp tambourines are renowned for their high quality affordability--not to mention they simply sound fantastic. And any percussionist will tell you that Vic Firth is the most reliable name in drumstick and mallet manufacture.
