My Students

A typical class period involves lots of movement and develops reading, listening, speaking, and writing skills in French.

My students are curious about the world around them and about other places.

They are very excited to be in a second language class and jump on any opportunity they have to practice their language skills with native French speakers. Due to our location it is really difficult to provide them with opportunities to read and speak the language. Overseas shipping fees are also astronomical so being able to provide authentic resources is complicated.

My Project

This proposal would allow my students an opportunity to read 2 different magazines about current events in French speaking countries. It would enable them to read real-life events, compare and contrast them to their own lives, and promote reading comprehension. They would also be able to think critically about themselves and the world around them.

Donations to this project will change my students' lives forever because they will have an opportunity to read real life events and not made up stories.

It will also allow them an opportunity to take their second language skills to the next level.
