Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The student members of Yearbook 23-24 and their Spanish teacher are seeking donations for our school hygiene bank. We are located in south Dallas; a low-income area and we have a 95% Hispanic student body. Teachers and administrators have noted an alarming number of students requesting feminine sanitary products, deodorants, soaps, among other hygiene products. The reality is that these children have difficult or limited access to them which is affecting their learning process or social interactions.

Having easy access to these products will not only help students with their physical and emotional health, but also with their academic performance.

We have managed to grow the scope of our hygienic bank from a single classroom to four, one of them being the SPED room. Our goal is that with these products at hand, these kids can achieve excellence and stay focused on learning.
