My classroom is always buzzing! We are a very busy first grade class as we are always exploring and experimenting to answer inquiry based questions. I am hoping to add some great new features to my classroom to make learning even more exciting and flexible for all of my students!
As an engineering school for children, all of my students are scientists!
They are curious, and have a strong desire to answer their questions through the engineering process and experimentation.
They think deeply about problems and are great problem solvers who work together. They have a great sense of community among their peers, both older and younger. They truly are the vision of the future!
My Project
Every student deserves and individualized learning experience. Each student should have time throughout the day to practice skills and complete work at a level that is "just right" for them.
As an engineering school, our class works with many different resources so that the students may practice different skills like the engineering design process, coding, and building.
This not only covers the area of content, but also encourages students to use strategies they have learned in math and literacy and transfer them to their work in engineering.
My students would greatly benefit from the iPad game system, Osmo. Osmo has many different educational games embedded into the system to fit a student's specific needs in math, literacy, and content. Each application is designed to individualize the learning of the player, while making the experience fun and engaging through games and play! The Osmo system is a great fun and engaging way for my students to receive the individualized learning they deserve during center or independent work time.
